Superb condition Ishapore .410 G.R.I SMLE No1 Mk3*. Built in 1941 at the Ishapore factory and then converted to .410 in 1946. As with all Ishapore shotgun conversions, it has the magazine well filled with a wooden plug and fitted with a metal feed plate inside the receiver to place a round on to chamber. It also has the rear sight pinned for the lowest range as per all conversions. This single shot .410 takes conventional 2 1/2 shells and can fire both slug and shot. Bolt matches receiver and all markings are clear and legible. Groups well on paper with shot at 30-50 meters and sights are spot on for slugs. Came to me with an immaculate "unfired" bore, since then I have put around 50 to 60 rounds through it and the bore has retained its mirror finish. Bolt runs smoothly, action is tight, chambers and ejects flawlessly. Retains 95% of its original bluing with only minimal scratches from storing. I have had it completely out of its stock and the finish is just as immaculate under the timber. It has a beautiful figured original stock with markings and extremely well done factory repairs (As seen on most Ishapores). When I purchased the rifle the stock had a shellac finish so I refinished it to have a linseed oil finish as per original specifications.
