These barrelled actions were to be converted to No.3 Mk1* Sniper Rifles during WW11. SAF Lithgow acquired these for that purpose but the program did not go ahead. The action & barrel are matching numbered! the barrel is dated 1916 and is still packed in grease and brown paper, the only prep work done was to paint them with green rust preventive paint (for the tropics) and a small area of bluing removed in readiness for the mounts to be drilled and tapped. The barrel will accept a .301 gauge and is basically new! Sorry the action is just a bare action. A letter of authenticity from The Small Arms Factory Museum Lithgow will be included in the sale.
