A very nice example of the Fabrique Nationale Browning Trombone is a pump-action long takedown rifle. Browning´s Patent Depose trombone pump -action rifles were designed by John M. Browning in 1919, and patented on 1 August 1922.
Manufactured by Fabrique Nationale d´Herstal Belgium from 1922 to 1974.
The rifle has a .22 caliber chamber, a tubular 11-round magazine, 24-inch round barrel, wooden semi-pistol grip stock. This rifle is a takedown model, comes apart for easy storage/transport. Models made in the late 1960s like this one feature a dovetail notch for mounting scopes. This rifle numbered 124595 of 150,000 made has been gently refurbished. The wood woodwork has been stripped, steamed and has been re-finished with a traditional English gunstock oil. The metal work is original and presents with a pleasing, brown patina. The rifle is in very good used condition with storage/handling marks commensurate with its age. The bore is excellent. The clean, crisp action cycles perfectly. An accurate, classic fun rifle to shoot. The rifle is for sale at $795.00 plus postage and transfers.
