Early Sako L461 sporter, Bofors marked barrel, 12 land ´multi-groove´ or ´micro-groove´ bore with M stamped receiver. Has the Australian bolt shroud (the rear of bolt was a special Australia only version of their bolts).
Perfect bolt face, not a lot of wear on the bolt either. This rifle is a little unusual in that it was not fitted with front or rear sights on the barrel. Most Sako sporters of that era had front sights (and used a rear peep) and many also had rear sights fitted to the barrel. So a very collectable Australian only model Sako.
Gunsmith has bedded the action and lightened the trigger. Good bore; should be a good shooter – I’ve only fired a few rounds, and it shot well on factory ammo, but I haven’t done any load development or accuracy testing.
