Early Mauser models are widely considered the best rimfire rifles ever made They feature a full miniature Mauser action and were made to last several lifetimes.This particular rifle was manufactured in late 1930s. It is in excellent condition for its age and has done relatively little work and been well cared for.Its largely all original with matching serial numbers on action ,barrel and bolt. The original nicely grained walnut stock is now professionally oil refinished and shows the Mauser caratouche .The hand cut chequering is still crisp and clean.Metalwork is rust and pitting free. The original bluing is in very good condition with only minor fading confined to high wear areas. Bore is excellent .Open sights are intact. This rifle has the light varmint barrel and similar rifles were used as sniper rifles during the war attesting to their exceptional accuracy. The 5 shot magazine is original Mauser. A rare and beautiful rifle with history to own, collect and use.
