This is a pre-lock model that was painstakingly hand assembled by a craftsman and built from USA made billet steel rather than the cheapo Mexican made metal injection moulded parts used today.
If you are looking for a 617 you may as well own the right model. There can be no argument that what is readily available from your local gun shop today is inferior quality to the earlier production models.
