With the serial number dating this rifle to 1980, this rifle was manufactured in the year immediately prior to the sale of Winchester Repeating Arms Company to U.S. Repeating Arms Company. The previous owner had the barrel professionally ported to reduce the muzzle rise typical of a short barrelled rifle chambered a hard hitting calibre. This American made classic comes with the long revered half-cock safety as oppose to the horrid cross-bolt safety of the 1990’s or the tang safety of the 2000’s. Timber and metalwork are in great condition for its age. I’ve shot a total of 32 rounds since purchase; spent casings available if desired. Rifle comes cased in a Spika gun bag.
