{"product_id":"261425","title":"261425","description":"Here we have an extremely rare and desirable JM Marlin which is highly sought after, being the first year of production for the model 1895 which was made in 1972. \u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThis rifle also has the more comfortable crescent style buttstock that is much better suited to a 45-70 - which was not supplied with the later rifles.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThis beauty comes from my collection and needs to find a new home where it will be looked after and appreciated.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nI believe it is widely known and accepted that the Remington made Marlins are poor quality slapped together junk. \u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nAs it stands the years  from the 50’s, 60's and 70's is regarded as the golden era for Marlin and raises the quality standard several levels higher again, even above the later JM rifles in terms of build quality, such as machining, clearancing, bluing, timber quality, fit and finish.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe lever on this rifle feels like it is running on ball bearings it is so smooth, so there is no need to have the rifle sent off for an action smoothing job, they came like this from the factory in 1972.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe bluing is stunning, a lot nicer than the later versions,  and it would be impossible for a better fit of forend and buttstock to receiver.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nA Skinner Hepburn receiver peep sight has been fitted which provides a longer sight radius for a more precise sight picture and more accurate shooting. The contoured profile of the sight body prevents the sight getting caught up in your gun bag or on clothing.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe barrel length is 22in which is perfect for this rifle in 45-70 as it is well balanced and provides acceptable recoil, muzzle blast, fast handling, easy carry and efficient ballistics. Also note that this model is pre cross bolt safety.\u003cbr\u003e\n\u003cbr\u003e\nThe later 26in Cowboy versions are too heavy, poorly balanced and very muzzle heavy by comparison.
